Diabetic patients and Insulin

If you're on a sliding scale make sure your physician writes the "max" amount of insulin you're injecting per day.  Without this information your prescription may be held up until the pharmacy contacts the doctor's office or you'll be dispensed one 10ml bottle for a 30 day supply.

When billing insurance companies the "max" amount of insulin must be written on the prescription if the patient is on a sliding scale and needs more than one vial.
